Register and Schedule

Individuals interested in taking the assessment must follow these steps:

Visit https://mc-gsx.learningbuilder.com/ to register as a candidate.

  • You will be asked to complete a short demographic survey, and review and electronically sign an agreement regarding the security and confidentiality of the CMCO assessment content.
Schedule your exam.

  • The CMCO exam is offered at all Pearson VUE testing centers across the United States, Europe and Asia.
  • After registration, you will be directed to the Pearson VUE website to schedule your exam at the location of your choice.
Assessment Fee: A non-refundable fee will be required to take the CMCO assessment. The fee is collected at the time you schedule your exam with Pearson VUE. For specific rates please see the table below:

NO SHOW POLICY: If a candidate does not cancel or reschedule a confirmed exam at least 48 hours before the scheduled time or does not show for their scheduled exam, the candidate will still be charged the test fee as if the candidate had attended.


Your scheduling confirmation email from Pearson VUE will tell you how early to arrive for your assessment. The assessment is computer-based.

You will need:

Two forms of original (no photo copies), valid (unexpired) IDs

  • One form as a primary ID (government issued with name, recent recognizable photo, and signature. Examples include: Passport or Driver’s License) and
  • One form as a secondary ID (with at least a name and signature, or name and recent recognizable photo).
Plan for:

A total time commitment of 110 minutes.

  • This time includes several administrative steps prior to the start of the actual exam.
  • Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the 87 multiple-choice questions.
Immediate Results:

Upon exam completion, candidates will receive an online score report which includes a single overall score, a pass/did not pass result, and a summary of performance in each of the seven knowledge domains covered in the exam. The results will also be sent to the candidate in email form.

For the CMCO assessment, the score is based on a scale ranging from 100 to 800 with the passing threshold of 650.

A candidate who does not pass the CMCO assessment will be allowed to immediately retest at their convenience. If the candidate fails the assessment a second time, he/she must wait an additional 90 days to retake the assessment. After the second failed attempt, the candidate must wait 90 days for each additional attempt.


The CMCO credential is active for a three-year period and will expire unless the certificant retakes the CMCO assessment. Individuals who fail to meet the certification maintenance requirements every three years will receive a notice from GSX that the credential has expired. Individuals who allow their GSX credential to expire must apply as new candidates and meet all of the requirements in place at the time of application.
