CMCP Testing

Register and Schedule

Individuals interested in obtaining the CMCP credential must
first register for the program, then select and book a specific Pearson VUE testing session.


Visit to register as a candidate.

  • You will be asked to complete a short demographic survey, and review and electronically sign an agreement regarding the security and confidentiality of the CMCP assessment content.


Schedule your exam.

  • Please purchase a testing voucher from the CMCP Voucher Store prior to scheduling your test date.
  • Individuals will have a window of one (1) year to schedule the CMCP assessment before their Pearson VUE registration expires; if it is allowed to expire, the individual will be required to pay the testing fee again.


Assessment Fee: A non-refundable fee will be required to take the CMCP assessment. The fee is collected at the time you schedule your exam with Pearson VUE. For specific rates please see the table below.


NO SHOW POLICY: If a candidate does not cancel or reschedule a confirmed exam at least 48 hours before the scheduled time or does not show for their scheduled exam, the candidate will still be charged the test fee as if the candidate had attended.

CMCP Assessment Fees

CMCP Assessment Fees are non-refundable and must be paid to take the assessment.  Each time you take the assessment, you must pay the corresponding fees.  For specific rates, please see the table below:

Your scheduling confirmation email from Pearson VUE will tell you how early to arrive for your assessment. The assessment is computer-based.

You will need:

Two forms of original (no photo copies), valid (unexpired) IDs

  • One form as a primary ID (government issued with name, recent recognizable photo, and signature. Examples include: Passport or Driver’s License) and
  • One form as a secondary ID (with at least a name and signature, or name and recent recognizable photo).
Plan for:

A total time commitment of 180 minutes.

  • This time includes several administrative steps prior to the start of the actual exam.
  • Candidates will have 160 minutes to complete the 150 multiple-choice questions.
Immediate Results:

Upon exam completion, candidates will receive an online score report which includes a single overall score, a pass/did not pass result, and a summary of performance in each of the seven knowledge domains covered in the exam. The results will also be sent to the candidate in email form. For the CMCP assessment, the score is based on a scale ranging from 100 to 800 with the passing threshold of 650.

A candidate who does not pass the CMCP assessment will be allowed to immediately retest at their convenience. If the candidate fails the assessment a second time, he/she must wait an additional 90 days to retake the assessment. After the second failed attempt, the candidate must wait 90 days for each additional attempt.

Maintenance / Recertification

The CMCP credential is active for a three-year period and will expire unless the individual complies with the continuing education program. Individuals who allow their GSX credential to expire must apply as new candidates and meet all of the requirements in place for the certification at that time.
